“The egg but not the chicken” we could have fun making you repeat it over and over but that wouldn’t tell you much more about us…

At Eggstra, we have made it our mission to bring you joy, good humor and a good dose of surprises by repurposing eggshells to make gifts to give. The idea started from a triple postulate: receiving a surprise is cool, breaking a shell is fun, being part of a recycling logic by giving life to waste is civic!

In 2013, Carole took on the challenge of successfully recycling an eggshell to restore it to its initial shape. It will take almost a year of development to achieve its goals and offer an intact shell reconstituted in the most stunning way possible from a real egg.

The entire process is artisanal and handmade in the Eggstra henhouse. The shells are collected from local pastry chefs and ice cream makers.

Subsequently, in 2014, Carole began making jewelry in order to offer surprises to slip inside the shells.

L’Eggstra jewelry keeps the same promises as its container: local, 100% handmade in the workshop, simple and refined jewelry that we would like to receive. She received a little family help from her two sisters for the sale of the first products for one and the communication part for the other. What follows is a rush arrival in the capital to present its products at Who’s Next, at Made In France and finally at the Maison & Objet show. She then surrounded herself with a few chicks to give her a helping hand in developing and manufacturing the collections.

To answer this question, what is the Eggstra?

It’s a unique product, it’s not a simple egg, it’s not our egg, it’s your egg! A shell with entirely personalized content that will bring a dose of good humor and surprise into your daily life and that of your loved ones. Transmit a message, an emotion, an announcement, simply to please, whatever the objective we let you design a shell to match the surprise and memories you wish to create. For our part, we will work in the henhouses to lay the most perfect eggs for you…

Concerning manufacturing, we have set ourselves the objective of working in a short circuit, in the most respectful way possible.
Our shells are recycled.
Our boxes are made in the Gers from recycled cardboard (less than 50 km from the henhouse).
Our jewelry is designed in our henhouse.
Our gilding is made in Dordogne (around a hundred km from the henhouse).
In short, we won’t change the world (even if we would like to) but we are doing everything to reduce our impact on our planet and offer the dose of lightness, good humor and light that we all need…
